see, this is what i'm talking about.
good news: today at the gym, what was 10 became 15, and what was 20 became 30 (except for minutes on the bike, where 20 is enough). so i was actually feeling like i was using muscles, and that was good. also, for the second time, i got to the end of the "rolling hills" program on the bike before my 20 minutes were up -- it apparently doesn't just keep you going until the clock runs out -- so i either need to change the program or up the gear so i can't pedal as fast. i really do already feel like i'm seeing results; my jeans feel a little looser and today i had to use the middle hook on my bra instead of the outside one, which, yay. and there's already more of a definition thing happening around my arms and shoulders. more yay.
bad news: according to the scale at the gym, i weigh two pounds more today than i did on tuesday. (at the same point in the workout, so it's not a matter of having sweated away a lot of water then and not now.)
worse news, however: the people next door are apparently having extensive work done to the exterior of their house. which is fine; what they've got so far (sort of refurbishing this stone wall and path they've got, i guess) looks great. today the construct-y guys were doing something that involved sawing wood, which i didn't realize until five steps from my own front path i realized that the pleasant autumn breeze was BLOWING SAWDUST IN MY EYES. into my hard contact lenses, i should point out. the pain, the pain. when i got upstairs (blind), i tried to take them out and rinse them with solution and put them back in; no good. i had to soak them for five minutes and wash my face, and then i could put them in without stinging. ow ow ow ow ow.

Bad news?
Clothes: good thing! Of course, it has to be after washing your jeans. ;-)
