i really should know by now

that when i'm feeling sort of sleepy-ish in the afternoon, taking a nap is seldom the way to go.

i just wind up shivering on my bed and twisting my body into ever stranger contortions, and eventually jerking into wakefulness not feeling rested, but if anything groggier than i was before i lay down. i've taken some sudafed and am thinking in a way about making mac-n-cheese. and i'm freezing. i turned the heat up, but it was already at 71, and now it's run for a minute and i'm still cold.
