baby did a mad, mad thing
yesterday: treated myself to a steak dinner in celebration of finishing the MA. drove to washington to see RotK with
darthrami and
cmshaw at 11:30.
i don't have anything to say about RotK, actually, that hasn't probably already been said eight thousand times by other people. ALL ABOUT the hobbit love. the paths of the dead materializing behind aragorn was pretty slick. billy boyd can sing to me any time; that whole scene was inspired. my girl eowyn kicking that nazgul's ass was fucking AWESOME. and? mr. hugo weaving did some damn good work in this movie. i'd like to see him get a supporting actor nomination, but the odds are probably not so good -- to say nothing of the odds that he'd actually win. but still.
got home at about 4:00. madness.
today: woke up at 6:30 to be the Human Alarm Clock and make sure
darthrami got up to go to her last day of work. went back to sleep. left, finally, around 10:30, drove back down here, stopped to get a pedicure; stopped to talk to an unhelpful young man about renting a U-Haul truck on january 3.
checked my e-mail:the an LJ fairy has renewed me for another six months! thank you, LJ fairy!
now to resume packing ...
