The head of graduate studies (whatever his title is) at the University of Virginia has recommended to the dean that my application to the Master's program be accepted.

[pause for Fox to do the happiest of happy dances]

This is not an official acceptance; that will have to come from the dean, and the professor dude tells me such letters normally take two to three weeks to arrive.

But still.

Penn can bite me.

Well -- let's not burn any bridges just yet. :-) I may hope that Penn reconsiders and quits biting me, two years from now when I approach them with Master's in hand and ask to begin on a PhD.
