You have agreed to represent your friend on her wedding day as maid of honor.
Your friend the bride calls and says "The salon called to say the bridesmaids' dress I picked out is about to be discontinued. They can still get them, if they have everybody's measurements by close of business tomorrow."
The only thing for it, when you live alone, is to bust out the tape measure and take your own measurements. Your tape measure is a retractable one, not a dressmaker's one, but that's neither here nor there. You do the best you can.
At least they only need bust and waist, and not, like, length of arm from center of shoulder to wrist. [g]
