trying to do laundry. can't find detergent. can't find fabric softener. these aren't where i remember putting them when i unpacked. but, as we remember, my mother was here last week.

what thinking person puts detergent and fabric softener in the front closet with the leftover painting supplies? clearly, where they belong is in the second kitchen cabinet with the bleach and the swiffer cloths and the rags-in-a-box.

or: where they belong is where the person who lives there put them.
