scheduly schedule thing

for my benefit and yours, should it happen to matter to you where i'm going to be and when for the next couple of months.

august 20: the Next Big Deadline at work. there's a hope this may be bumped back a little, but it doesn't seem likely. if it does, then i'm leaving town that afternoon and driving to my parents' with another Carload Of Stuff. (a side benefit of going to hang out with the fam and retrieve the new laptop.)
august 21: driving to my grandparents' in WhereTheHell, new york -- either from here or from my parents' house. returning to my parents' in the same day.
august 22: driving back here, in an emptier car but with a laptop yay.

september 4: up to connecticut for high school friend C's wedding reception? hard to say. i've heard nothing about this.
september 8: last day at work yay. may fly to detroit that evening.
september 9-10: to stratford, ontario, either from detroit or from here. have tickets and room reservation, but need to work out details of getting there, poss. renting car, etc. (note to self: call to reserve a room.)
september 11: back here following vacation.

note to localfolk: if there's some sort of Bye, Fox thing going to happen, the week of september 12 is when it should be, in order to guarantee i'll be able to be there. (if there's not, that's fine too, but y'all will be the ones with curlers saying "how come you didn't have a thing?" i'll be far away.)

september 12-?: pack things.
september 13: doctor, 10 am, bring insurance card and photo ID. (note to self: keep pestering insurance people about COBRA options, as currently not insured after august 24.)
september 17 OR 24: load truck with help of generous friends; drive truck to parents' house, unload majority of stuff.
september 18 OR 25: drive truck to brother and sister-in-law's place, unload furniture. fly back here.
september 19 OR similar but not later than 26: pack remaining few things in car, drive car to parents' house, somehow get car to brother and sister-in-law and get back to parents' house without it.
september 28: dentist. dad has details about time. (note to self: need to see doctor some time in august or sep as well.)
september 30: fly out.

october 1: arrive.
october 10: classes begin.

thing being this: on the one hand, i'll see C mere days later, as she's coming to stratford as well. on the other hand, i won't see her boyfriend husband mere days later, and still on the second hand, you have a birthday every year, while these kids will just get married the once.

(also, didn't you ditch sowilo's birthday once because you were out of town? just checking. [g])

I missed sowilo's birthday because my brother was GRADUATING COLLEGE. Her protestations to the contrary, I think this is more than ample reason to miss a birthday party.

I do have a birthday party every year! But you will be in England for the next TWO YEARS. I'd understand missing my birthday for the wedding, of course, but it's just the reception?

I mean, make your own deicsion, of course (I know you will anyway), but I'll be sad if you're not there.

oh, quite right. i forgot that was why you were out of town (and see how i didn't play the didn't-help-me-move card, because that was your sister's birthday and i thus have no claim?). my bad.

i'm told there'll be a party to celebrate the wedding-that-is-no-ceremony-at-all, which is going to happen some time at the end of this month. "labor day weekend" is when this thing was supposed to be. maybe it'll be sunday. who knows? C is still in peru.

it'll all work out. whichever party i miss (yours or the potential hers), it's not like that's my last chance to see you before i go. say, if there's a Bye Fox thing, we can have birthday cake there too. :-)
