every wedding i've been a part of the photo-madness for, i've hated the pictures of me the first couple times i've looked at them. we really do look different in cameras than we do in mirrors, and i often feel that i look like some sort of beached sea mammal when i see myself in photographs.
but with time, normally on about the third pass through the photos, i feel better. the pictures look better. i have no idea why this should be, but this (looking at my brother's wedding pictures, trying to decide which ones to order) is at least the third time it's happened. fortunately, because it's happened before, when i did first see -- and hate -- these pictures, i remember saying to myself, but you hated the ones from K's and L's weddings, too, at first. so.
random side note: i have now been in or involved in the weddings of, in order, college roommate K, college roommate L, and brother M. by my calculations, that means that the next wedding i'll be in will be of someone whose name begins with ...
