every wedding i've been a part of the photo-madness for, i've hated the pictures of me the first couple times i've looked at them. we really do look different in cameras than we do in mirrors, and i often feel that i look like some sort of beached sea mammal when i see myself in photographs.

but with time, normally on about the third pass through the photos, i feel better. the pictures look better. i have no idea why this should be, but this (looking at my brother's wedding pictures, trying to decide which ones to order) is at least the third time it's happened. fortunately, because it's happened before, when i did first see -- and hate -- these pictures, i remember saying to myself, but you hated the ones from K's and L's weddings, too, at first. so.

random side note: i have now been in or involved in the weddings of, in order, college roommate K, college roommate L, and brother M. by my calculations, that means that the next wedding i'll be in will be of someone whose name begins with ... [looks at datlowen, darthrami]

Please, no! I mean, datlowen? I don't want to imagine it! And apparently darthrami isn't interested. And I'm not sure I want to imagine that either, although for different reasons. Maybe this means you'll be free of weddings for a while?

I'd also like to say that I'm glad you've still got to go half around the alphabet to get back to me. Oh, right, "in or involved in the weddings of." If I ever do get married, I'm eloping or, barring that possibility, having something so and simple that esti626 will be my maid of honor and that will be the end of it!

Or maybe it will be other other party's name? That opens all sorts of possibilities.
