dudes. gymnastics still isn't a sport, but damn, that was exciting.
i approve very much of young paul not believing he'd won -- and not in that half-assed way you normally see people being all can't-believe-i-did-it, but genuinely not believing it
happened. (i do not, however, approve of his voice.)

2. i've found that further out midwest-way, the city limits are drawn differently. there are areas of indianapolis, frinstance, that would be suburbs if it were cleveland instead of indianapolis. i stand by my assertion that cleveland is a larger metro area than milwaukee, if not a larger city.
3. i haven't heard anybody say "remote farming community". all i've heard is "swinging from the rafters in the barn". so nyeah. ;-)
