in case there was any doubt ...

... that what i am is a nerd rather than a geek:

did y'all know you could refresh a webpage with the F5 key instead of clicking the "refresh" button on your browser?

dudes! what else can the function keys do? i always knew they must be good for something, but i figured they worked in programs i didn't use/understand/know existed.

hahahaa! I love that you said that! When I discovered the F5, (I don't remember how), it made my day so VERY much. I told EVERYONE I saw.

(did you know that you can close a window using ALT+F4? Or that when you're in an internet browser F6 will highlight the text in the url window so you can copy or enter a new one?)

i didn't know anything! i just learned this about F6, because i spent a minute pushing all the F# keys to see what they would do. but in general, "did you know _____ F#" is going to get a "no" from me, because i am DUMB.

did you know that you can close a window using ALT+F4?

Actually, ALT+F4 closes the currently focused application. In apps with a multiple document interface, CTRL+F4 closes the current window, leaving the application itself open.
