1. someone asked me for directions this afternoon, and i was able to give them. huzzah! am Proper Local, despite accent and refusal to apologize for being given wrong sandwich.
2. e-mail just received out of the blue from Lexical Semantics and Lexical Pragmatics professor: "[my name] - It's always difficult to assess whether the pace of a course is appropriate when there's a mixed clientele. I think this year has a greater range than usual, and I think there's a 'front bunch' for whom I may be taking an over-scenic route. I'd be grateful for any assessment you have, and any feedback you may relay from others. [signed]" not sure what to make of this. or what the response would be if i did know what to make of it, actually.
