my wireless connection, which has been bouncing like a bouncy thing for two solid days, appears to have pulled itself together and stabilized.

yay.

and there is some wind blowing, man. today was warmer, close to 50, so i don't think this is likely to be a crazy snow-belt wintry wind, but whatever temperature it is, it's strong. rattling the windows. eep.

I read today that the majority of the UK have no plans to go out New Year's Eve, due to the expense incurred. So, those with no plans are a majority, and needn't be bothered by it.
