okay, first off, i admit, this is the very first time ever ever that i am listening to verdi's requiem.

with that confession out of the way:  where have i heard this "dies irae" before?  ... it's something lame like in a car commercial or similar, but damn, man ...

My memory's saying it was used in Interview with the Vampire, but I could have just imagined that - been years since I watched it.

that wouldn't be it anyway, i think, as i've only seen most of that film, and only once -- the brass-and-timpani bits sounded really familiar to me, and it's going to bug me now ... off to google. :-)
