actually, this is goodish news.  it means the tearing headache and nausea i've been feeling all day are likely not the result of the cold i've been trying to fend off catching up with me after all.  and it's not a bad one -- i feel quite a bit better just sitting still with my hands over my eyes.

i haven't tried that. just making the room dark and quiet was a pretty good start.

If you don't already have prescription medecine for this, Migril, by Glaxo Wellcome. Not over the counter; a GP has to prescribe it.

i may mention it next time i see the GP; i don't think i'll go on purpose. i've never had the sort of migraine where you just have to lie still and throw up for hours -- this was just a very, very bad headache until i realized it was the sort of very, very bad headache that came with light sensitivity. i've turned off all the lights but one, and put on my sunglasses. shame i can't actually function with a sleep mask over my eyes.

(I've also had the migraine you describe, three or four days out of my life entirely. They sometimes develop from what you seem to be experiencing now. I try not to leave them time to, now.)
