came home this afternoon to the smell of scorch in the flat.  homegirl I has been, again, putting eggs on the stove and forgetting about them until the pot boils dry and the eggs explode.

burned eggs, they stink a lot, yo.  [sigh]  on the up side, i move to my new room in exactly a month.

Buy her a timer she can carry around with her when she leaves the kitchen with something on the stove.

she'd have to remember to set it.

there have been times she's gone back and set her alarm, in her room, which is where she goes when she leaves stuff and gets caught up in her work. but mostly, she forgets to set the timer, so, you know, meh. the only real solution is to forbid her from cooking, but we can guess how well that's likely to work. ;-)
