grr, argh

so lately (like, past 24 hours?), an issue has cropped up in mozilla firebird and netscape (but not in plain mozilla and not in mozilla firefox) that's driving me batty:  comments pages (behind lj-cuts, even) are showing the original entry at the top and at the bottom of the page.  what this means is that i can't scroll to the bottom to see the most recent comment -- i've got to find it somewhere in the middle of the page, and RAR.  this is happening on the simple comment pages that are the result of my insistence on style=mine, but it's also happening on style-specific comment pages, and it's actually worse; in one case, i'm looking at original entry, first comment, original entry again, all comments, and then original entry a third time.

firebird and netscape.  i appear to have solved the problem with netscape by downloading netscape 8.0, which will take some getting used to, but whatever; but firebird, ack!  how can i make it stop?  (indulge me, please, in the fact that there are occasions on which i feel the need to have four different browsers running at once, and i will never allow any of them to be IE.)

help!

Huh. I'm on Netscape 7.2, and I'm not seeing it at all. Did you try clearing your cache, just on principle?

yeah. it's nothing to do with that -- i even imported a page i know to be working in mozilla but that firebird has never seen before, and it's doing the same thing. it's totally the fault of firebird. (i'm over it with netscape, because 8.0 is fine. only there hasn't been a new version of firebird in like two years, so i am stuck!)
