what the web says about Gluttony:
i'll say. in the vial, i can't smell the chocolate or the nuts (hazelnut or the pecans that should be involved in pralines) at all, or even really the vanilla -- it's buttercream, toffee, and caramel, and more buttercream, all the gooey, slightly salty, incredibly sweet stuff that makes your teeth hurt.
on me, there's an immediate rush of OH MY GOD MORE BUTTERCREAM; when that's over, the pralines come in for a minute, and then once all the burnt sugar has settled down, the smell of hops comes to the surface just a bit -- a smell that means only edinburgh to me, actually. when i got on the bus at the edinburgh airport last april and smelled the breweries on the air i damn near cried. man. anyway, everything settles down and smells nutty and sweet and a little hoppy; i never can smell the chocolate, but that's okay.
this scent isn't unpleasant, but it's awfully overpowering. i don't see it being a regular in my repertoire.

Actually, vanilla-based scents in general smell good on me; everything from BPAL that I'm definitely ordering more of once the imps run out (Gluttony, Eclipse, and Golden Priapus) is vanilla-heavy.

this is (at least on me) a buttercream-based scent. and buttercream is a nice smell, but good lord, i smell like a birthday cake.
