tougher penalties for parole violators, stan.  ... and also, world peace.

so this is the winter wishlist meme, which originated last year with [livejournal.com profile] tartanshell and of which i was reminded the other day by [livejournal.com profile] cereta.

Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ.  The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.")  The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list.  And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true.  Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free -- do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to.  The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy.  Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached.  Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive.  And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1.  dig it -- a version of my amazon wishlist with no identifying information.  who suggested to me that i do that?  thanks.  :-)
2.  like i said last year (and so did [livejournal.com profile] ellen_fremedon)-- i am always a sucker for illustrations of anything i've written.
3.  also, icons.  icons are cool.  i've been thinking i need a 'laughing' icon for a while.  also if anyone has suggestions how to modify that left-eye icon to get four more deadly sins out of it, i'm all ears.  erm, so to speak.
4.  please give blood.  so many of us are ineligible; if you can (safely*) donate blood, for god's sake please do.
5.  on that note --  i would love it if someone could give me -- and, more importantly, the CDC -- a reliable test for vCJD, so those of us who are ineligible because we've been in europe for the wrong length of time can get back off the blacklist.  (this has been the "and world peace" portion of the list.)
6.  music you think i'd like.  recorded or not!  i like printed music too.
7.  healthy minds and healthy bodies for all of my friends and family, particularly those who lack one or the other of these.
8.  feedback.  as [livejournal.com profile] cereta said, always welcome here, but the important thing is, to someone.
9.  a little tranquillity would be a nice thing.  i don't know how you'd get it to me, or where i'd keep it when i wasn't using it, but there are times when i'm stressing about my work, or my lacklustre social life, that some inner tranquillity would really come in handy.
10.  i still love --  the seatbelt bags.  :-D

*safely = with a view to your own and the recipients' safety, of course.
