here is my summary of the film:

older middle-aged woman behind me:  [whisper whisper]
me:  [glare]
her husband:  [mumble mumble, not bothering to whisper]
me:  [glare] shh.
woman:  [whisper whisper]
her husband:  [speak speak]
me:  shh!
my dad:  [moves up two rows]
me:  [no place to move up to]
woman:  [whisper]
her husband:  hunh?
me:  [hissing]  can you not please be quiet so people can watch the movie?!
woman:  [whispering]  what?
her husband:  [quietly, but voiced]  screw you.

but he mainly shut up for the rest of the movie.

How anyone can ever get stuck sitting near people who talk through movies and *not* support capital punishment, I don't know.

capital, schmapital -- now, corporal punishment, we could talk about. i wanted this guy to suffer; i was actually a little unsettled by how badly i wanted to, for example, cut him with a knife. i suppose it's a good thing i'm so civilized.
