there are further auditions for iolanthe tomorrow today and saturday.

they must have had a very low rate of acceptance from people they did offer parts to, neh?  i expect it's mainly chorus that they're still auditioning for (or auditioning for again), and therefore it would be particularly wrong of me to go along when i've already turned down a place in the chorus from the first round.  and if they'd wanted me for a part they'd have said so in the first round, so auditioning for a part in the second round would be futile and silly.

still, though.  it does get the mind working a bit.

heh. to me, the announcement that they're having further auditions (which was to the whole membership, not just me) says that the production hasn't even begun rehearsals and is already having trouble. if they contacted me specifically to say "we were wrong, please won't you sing the lead", then i'd have a bird in the hand, but as it is, i'm really fine with doing the st john passion instead of wading into that quagmire. :-)
