fox | yays for the day

got e-mail with project request from senior partner today. replied "good to be back, please forgive me for needing a little over-explanation of the obvious while i get back into the swing of things, when you say XYZ, do you mean XabcY123Znq?" he responded with some level of clarification that raised a whole new series of (legitimate!) questions, i replied again, and he said -- here comes the yay -- "Your e-mails remind me how nice it is to work with such a conscientious person." gold star for fox! i feel bad about what this implies about my team members' work ethic, however.
former office-mate mentioned in conversation (with a more recent hire and a temp) over dinner that she'd learned a lot from me. about, like, life and how to relate to people, not just about work.
the Bad Things i was waiting for on west wing didn't happen. other Bad Things did, but that's neither here nor there. and! [swoon]
darthrami brought me a present! [swoon]
