today's e-mail exchange:

re:  forms

In view of the constant need for these forms, I have added a link to 'GSO FORMS On-line' page, at the foot of our web page 'Graduate courses'.

You rock the most, K.  Do you know how often I've been just up to *here* with frustration at, just for one example, some (but not all) the admin staff in my college, and wanted to say, It's not like it's impossible to be both efficient and helpful/pleasant -- the secretary at my department manages all the time!

:-D

auntie foxy... should i take linguistic theory as an advanced option next year (it's paper XIII on this (http://www.ling-phil.ox.ac.uk/pages/undergrad.html) page), or should i take the psychology option on language acquisition? i'm looking for interest, relevance, and not having to learn too many arbitrary facts/names of theorists. i've been given no guidance at all as to what to expect from linguistics beyond that link; i'm sorry to bother you if you have no idea, but i was kind of hoping that you might know better than me exactly what kind of thing it's going to entail.

come to an OU3FS meeting soon! sophie's play tonight? meeting in wadham lodge at 7...

well, on interest i'd take the linguistic theory; on relevance, if your degree is already in psych, i'd take the psych option; and on learning facts and names and things, i think it's a dead heat. so that's probably not too much help. i do think the general Lx theories are far more interesting than language acquisition, though. :-) how soon do you need to decide? we should get together some time and talk about it. can't be the play tonight, though, because i've got dinner in hall. mwah!

(also, it's foxie, please, if you must. but just fox is better, of course. [g])
