flt, who reminded me that in fact I will need black turtlenecks for the Worlds. You go try finding a black turtleneck in England in the spring! Fortunately, I found a couple -- sort of dressier than I'd otherwise have chosen, but whatever. I will be uniform-compliant. I also bought (well, ordered, and they'll come in on Saturday -- they didn't have any the right length in the store) black pants -- I don't know, joggers, I guess, whatever, knit things I'd never otherwise have bought, but hey. The reason I mention it, though, is that trying them on, I could totally tell that I've been losing weight. Not tons, obviously, but enough that I could see it in the mirror, which, hi. I mean, I live with this body, don't I, so a change that I can notice? Yeah.
On a related subject, the past couple days I have been in a mad carb-craving place. I mean it's been insane. Bread and cookies and muffins, man. I'm not going out of control, it's just, I must have hit a -- it's not that I haven't been eating carbs, because mainly when I fix my own dinner I'm eating pasta or rice, you know? I don't know what, but it's been, like, MUST HAVE BREAD NOW NOW NOW. I think I can feel it calming down this evening, thank goodness. Because when the self says GIVE ME BREAD! and you say Here, you can have a glass of juice, sooner or later you get the idea that your metabolism is going to somehow become corporeal and throttle you.
