tree pollen is my sworn enemy!

Today has been completely exhausting, and for no good reason.  Went to bed last night around, oh, 1ish; woke up this morning and had to reset the alarm and then ignore it and then reset it again, and finally hauled myself out of bed at 11:30.  I mean before that I could. not. bring myself. to get up.  It was bad.

Sat at my desk and printed out the second copy of my thesis (!!!), which was all I had on the agenda for today, and then packed up the two copies and took them across town at 4:30 to get bound.  Will pick them up tomorrow morning and take them over to the Schools, yay.

Got home around 5, and took a nap.  Understand this.  I'd slept for close to eleven hours, sat on my ass supervising the print job for four, walked a total of about five city blocks, and I was worn out.  Dozed for a while, and I will now have some dinner and then go to bed at an hour where I can be assured I'll get up early enough in the morning to get across town and hand in the fucking thesis by 12 noon.

I blame the pollen.  Fucking allergies.  More decongestants for me!  More, more, more!

[snort]

If you really want, I suppose you can. Not yet, though. At least not until after tomorrow (when I've handed it in); possibly not until after the exams are done and marked. I'm leaning toward the second option.

Yay, you did it! I never doubted you would, and I'm betting your glad it is over. Do you have to do a public defense?

Won't know about the defense until the day. There's a scheduled day for what are locally called viva voce examinations ('live voice', or, 'oral'), called vivas for short. In most departments you find out ahead of time whether you have to go for one or not -- i.e., you either get summoned for a viva, or you get your results and thus know you're not going to be summoned. In my department, apparently, you have to go no matter what, but normally they just keep you for a few minutes to give you your results in person. Grar. (Conventionally, though, the viva can improve your results but not damage them. So at least it's not like you were doing okay but blew the defense and thus the whole thing is shot to tell. (Aren't you glad I didn't say 'blew the orals'?))
