DCfolk: progress!
I have a lease!
Of course I don't have a job, so my mother will have to guarantee the damn thing, but I'ma come down to DC on August 21 and sign the thing in the presence of witnesses, get the keys, etc. I see from my calendar where that's a Friday, so odds are fairly good I'll do the moving of All My Worldly Possessions in the following week or weekend.
Tentative schedule as I see it:
Friday Monday 21st: arrive, sign lease, take possession of place.
Saturday-Sunday Tuesday-Wednesday 22nd/23rd : paint!
@Friday 28th @Saturday 25th: re-arrive with Stuff Inna Truck
So. Who wants to play? Painting is more fun with company, and moving is more possible, and history has shown that I am very good about supplying cold beverages during and meals following periods when friends are helping me move and/or paint. There's even room on the moving-help roster for people who can't or won't lift things -- two or three people who can babysit stuff at strategic points (one with the unlocked truck, one in the unlocked apartment, one by the open elevator, etc.) are so totally welcome!
