I have a lease!

Of course I don't have a job, so my mother will have to guarantee the damn thing, but I'ma come down to DC on August 21 and sign the thing in the presence of witnesses, get the keys, etc.  I see from my calendar where that's a Friday, so odds are fairly good I'll do the moving of All My Worldly Possessions in the following week or weekend.

Tentative schedule as I see it:
Friday Monday 21st:  arrive, sign lease, take possession of place.
Saturday-Sunday Tuesday-Wednesday 22nd/23rd :  paint!
@Friday 28th @Saturday 25th:  re-arrive with Stuff Inna Truck

So.  Who wants to play?  Painting is more fun with company, and moving is more possible, and history has shown that I am very good about supplying cold beverages during and meals following periods when friends are helping me move and/or paint.  There's even room on the moving-help roster for people who can't or won't lift things -- two or three people who can babysit stuff at strategic points (one with the unlocked truck, one in the unlocked apartment, one by the open elevator, etc.) are so totally welcome!  SIGN UP HERE!

Quick question. Do you think it will be easier to find a job in the fall? I really don't know, just was wondering.

I've heard buzz that it will be easier in the fall. Whole city's on vacation until September, etc. But it'll be okay -- I'm listed with an agency that assures me they'll get me enough to pay the bills until I get something permanent, and I believe them. Yay! :-)

Oh good! I was just thinking that college kids will be leaving and internships will be ending and new things starting, and Congress gearing up with elections and such. What an exciting time to be in Washington. Besides, anybody will be lucky to get you!

Hah, just like I live in SoMoCo, and tell my relatives it's DC. It's just easier.

Unless things change drastically I ought to be available to help with the painting. Since blowing out my elbow I can no longer do the schlepping part, but painting I can do. And I'm good at it. :)
