family update

Have spent two days with the distaff side, for Christmas-in-January.  Cousins are preposterously cute, and also old enough to remember us from one visit to the next, so we don't have to do fifteen minutes of warming up and reminding them who we are before we get hugs.  Grandmother is doing okay on her own, but seems to be in the early stages of macular degeneration.  Not sure how long she'll be able to live in the house by herself if she goes blind.

On balance, though, a good weekend.
