my errands today
Things I succeeded in buying today:
- clothes (online)
I went to Old Navy and found decent stuff, but I Could. Not. Deal. with the length of the queue, which was -- to be fair -- one long line of people for several registers, instead of forcing us to commit to a single register and watch other lines moving faster, but was a good 25 or 30 people long by the time I got in it. Went home and ordered instead. - underwear (online)
Bras, too! - bra (in a store!)
We heart the sale rack at Nordstrom. - lotion, on sale
Three bottles of pleasant (to me) scents at Bath & Body Works for $8, owing to their 75% sale. Yay! - stitch markers
- nasal spray, popcorn, frozen dinners
- skirt hangers, candle, travel mugs
This was my best thing. I have these two coffee mugs, right, from which I drink my coffee on the way to work in the morning. They do not fit in the cup holder of my car. They fit on the cup holder, and if I wiggle them properly I can get them in the top of there so they don't fall down while I'm driving, but it would really be better to have one(s) that the cup holder could actually hold. So I found the one I already have, and found another one that seemed to be skinnier, and thought, oh, good. And then I thought, but I won't know for sure, will I? And then -- this is my moment of genius. I said to the girl at customer service, what I'd really like best is to take this thing to my car and make sure it fits in the cup holder. Can I leave you my driver's license? My phone? Everything but my car key? And she said Sure, okay. !!! So I left the store with an item I had not paid for and made sure it fit in the cup holder of my car, and it did, so back I went inside and bought two. Yay!
- cordless drill/screwdriver
I explained my difficulty to the guy at Home Depot, and he said probably a new battery would do it, instead of my having to buy a whole new thing, but since I didn't know the voltage of the one I have (and, honestly, they didn't have much in the way of spare batteries even if I had known what I needed), I didn't get anything. I will look online.
