Sober comment: it's a rough year for grad school applications. Everyone looked at the economy and said "I know! I'll go back to school!" I believe I heard applications were up 80%. That's a whole helluva lot.

That's a tremendously flattering comment, and I will keep you around because you are good for my ego. [ggg] But, you know, it's a crapshoot -- and my transcript is, while not exactly snake-eyes, nothing to bet heavily on. [shrug]
It'll all work out. If not this year, then next. Or not. Something else. Maybe.

you still have 2 you haven't heard from right? And don't let someone who doesn't like how you look on paper win. If this round of Univ. say no, apply to the next six. The first six will be sorry when you are well published in your intended field.
