liveblogging the oscars

w/r/t the other nominees for Lead Actress:  I also love when they're genuinely pleased for the winner.  This was a classy crop of nominees, this year, is what.

That was a very sweet song, but it had four notes in it.  Surely it was not the best song of the year.

Of course, I can't believe all those musicals were really the best pictures of each year in the sixties, either.

Renee, if you'd just quit pouting, I'd forgive you for all that squinting.  Please address that, kthx.

That old-timer looks pretty good for 98, wouldn't you say?

Tilda Swinton was wearing a Hefty Lawn and Leaf bag...discuss.

What's to discuss? When you're right, you're right. But: (a) she gets a lot of free points for the kickass red hair and great haircut, and (b) it's not even the worst dress I've seen (and I didn't even watch the red-carpet nonsense).

it's damn near close to the worst dress of the evening...also, I agree that the Best Actress nominees were all incredibly classy.

Pouting and squinting are both genetic defects there, I expect. *snerk*
