Spent the evening turning the heel.  Much better this time -- more consistent with the wraps on the short rows and so on, so the heel is much more even.  Still struggling with picking up stitches to close the gap.  Poss. next time someone can show me how to do it better.  What remains is an inch and a half of ankle and then a half-inch of ribbing for the cuff.  And then I can begin the next thing!  Yay!
