sock update

Finished the cuff and one and a half repeats of the leg on the Embossed Leaves socks.  Really moves when there's a pattern instead of constant monotony, yo.  Alas, even using two needles for the cast-on, the finished edge of the cuff is pretty tight -- so I may do just two and a half repeats instead of the three and a half the pattern calls for, because the sock is never going to come up over the calf muscle ever.

Also, the tip of my ring finger on my right hand is numb, all the way down to the first knuckle.  This came on quite suddenly yesterday, but it hasn't gone away.  I think I've pinched a nerve with a needle or possibly with the yarn wound too tight at one point, but I don't think I'm doing that any more, and it's not going away.  ARGH.

Onward!

You may also need to go up a needle size for the cast-off to be sufficiently stretchy.

These are cuff down, so they're how they're going to be. It looks like in future I may have to cast on on, like, size 5 needles and then work the socks themselves on size 2 (actually 2.5, I guess, as they're 3mm). This is crazy talk. :-) But for now, these will just be one repeat shorter than the pattern expects -- which is fine, as I don't tend to wear my socks very tall anyway.
