fox turns into her mother

... part 43871259 in a series.

Last week, Saturday morning, I cleaned my place up quite a bit because my brother and sister-in-law were coming to visit in the afternoon.  (That is not, in itself, my-mom-like.  9/10 of people I know clean up when there are going to be houseguests.)  During the week they were here, I did my laundry and put it away the same day, which is kind of crazy.

They left on Thursday.

Today, the place is obviously not in bad shape.  And nevertheless, I swept the floors and vacuumed the rugs, on the theory that it's easier to keep something clean if it's clean to start with.  I may be able to sustain this kind of maintenance-cleaning every week.  (Dudes!  I KNOW!)  I did a load of sheets and a load of towels (post-houseguest laundry), and will shortly put it away.  I shall also unload the dishwasher.  It's crazy!

(In slightly ickier news, although not crazy icky because this occurred at a window and near the door, so things can come in from outside:  what's a bug that looks not unlike a small-to-medium-sized cockroach, but can fly?  There was one over here a couple of minutes ago, but I vacuumed it off the blinds.)

The earwigs we get are probably less than an inch, but they're not tiny. They're hideous.
