fox | (no subject)

am at my brother's house. successfully surprised him friday evening -- yay! went to dinner, confused waitress, will tell story when i get home. unsuccessfully surprised brother saturday morning with arrival of parents, since he'd already suspected and then they called when they got lost on the way from the airport. c'est la vie. saw uncle and aunt-type person yesterday for dinner, but not cousin (not their daughter) who also lives nearby. spent afternoon and evening in moderate to excruciating mid-to-lower back pain that felt less like a muscle ache than like something wrong with a kidney. not that i know what kidney pain feels like, but this hurt no matter how i moved and also if i sat still, and putting a hot pack on it didn't help. sleeping seems to have taken care of it, huzzah, huzzah.

today: shopping. tomorrow: return home.

phone, by the way, has still not rung. am beginning to be discouraged.
