is every day

It's that time again, when I note that like many other holidays, there are those who commemorate Valentine's Day and those who do not. Y'all who do -- go nuts. But I continue to doubt that flowers are flowerier, chocolates sweeter, or words any more meaningful because it's today. I prefer my (and your!) motivation to originate from something other than the calendar.

That's all. Back to your knitting. :-)

I'm with you. It's a totally over-hyped and overrated holiday -- an excuse for the marketing juggernauts to motivate people through guilt to buy expensive and unnecessary shit for their SOs.
Of course, I have very little romance in my soul, but what I do have (and yes there is some, shhh don't tell), doesn't get stirred up over what is ultimately just one day out of 364 others.

I don't knit. What can I go back to? :P

I'm with you as well.. although it was sweet when hubby (after having left the house to go do work) popped back in a moment later to give me a quick kiss. "Happy Valentine's day" he said with a laugh. "Oh yeah," I replied.. "You too".

Done - aren't we sappy? No flowers (I'm allergic anyway), No chocolates (we already have what we like in the house all the time anyway), and no fuss.

Will we go out to eat? Sure.. but we go out to eat almost every night anyway. We just don't cook.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with a co-worker of mine this past Thursday.

Co-Worker: I'm making a Valentine's card for my husband. It's a picture of me and my daughter, and one of my employees saw me working on it. Totally using company equipment to do it.

Me: I bought my wife a Mr. T in Your Pocket for Valentine's Day.

Co-Worker: You bought her that for Valentine's Day?!?!?!

Me: Yeah. We don't do Hallmark holidays, and she told me that she enjoyed it far more than flowers or Jared. So I guess we're odd that way.

Co-Worker: Yeah.
