I don't know why having my parents here is more difficult than having any two other houseguests on the planet (including my brother and sister-in-law, so it's not just a Relations issue), but it is. Not bad! But always a bit of a challenge.

I shall be mostly offline for the weekend. Carry on.

Of course your parents' visits are more difficult than anyone else's -- you didn't grown up in anyone else's house. Having them under your roof, you'll feel that at any moment it'll be their house, again -- and part of you may even want that. And of course they feel the same (complementary) way.

One of the most satisfying feelings I ever had, after my mother and I disagreed about how to do something, was saying "My house, my rules."

Which of course was what I heard all growing up.
