woot canaw, part 2

Today was so much better than last Tuesday. Didn't have the rubber dam over my mouth for quite as long, I don't think, plus I was concentrating on just letting it sit open rather than on holding it open, so while the joint is sore, it's not as bad. And I got the extra-strong Novocaine, which means I got less of it, which means it's already worn off (has in fact been worn off for like an hour). And the dentist took some care with the temporary crown to make sure it will fit in the bite guard, so yay.

Hopefully all this means my days of excruciating pain are over. But, as well, after Saturday's extreme awfulness, Sunday was better and today was actually good (I was able to chew on both sides of my mouth at both breakfast and lunch!), so if I feel better tomorrow and then worse Wednesday and worse yet Thursday and awful Friday, I will not panic unless I do not proceed to feel better on Saturday and well on Sunday.



I wonder who figured out you could do root canal?

I feel bad for not asking about your tooth on Saturday, but, honestly, it slipped my mind. Sorry you were having a bad day!

No, it was okay then! It was the evening when it got really bad, and only Sunday morning talking about it with sanj that I might have cried a little.

I'm so glad this one was easier on you. I hope it's the last you have to deal with of this crap for a long, long time.

There's still an impression and then a cementing of the real crown, and I suppose it's possible one or both of those will hurt like hell if they bust out that laser thing again (to kick the gums back so they can fit the thing down below the gumline). But I am at the moment optimistic about being in the home stretch.

Sometimes I stop and reflect that in February, I had a headache that wouldn't go away - and this is where I've ended up.
