two weekends down, two to go.

1. I went to a bonspiel in Philadelphia with my team this weekend, and we won. The whole thing, I mean. Yay us!

2. I am not going to see Harry Potter tonight, because I am too tired to enjoy it. I shall go some time over the Thanksgiving weekend, I've decided.

3. This weekend was the second of four consecutive weekends that I will not be sleeping in my own bed. Modes: flying, driving, driving, flying. Nights away: Friday&Saturday, Thursday-Saturday, Wednesday-Saturday, Friday&Saturday. So tonight my bed is going to be awfully comfortable.

4. But driving to Boston on Wednesday is going to suck. I think if I go in expecting it to take me twelve hours, anything less than that will please me. I've got the GPS, but I know it will want me to take the Cross-Bronx Expressway, so I've also printed out the directions guiding me (a) around the Delaware Toll Plaza and (b) up the Palisades and over the Tappan Zee. I'll have tunes and a phone charger and soda and water. Perhaps I should mark up the map with the locations of the Chik-Fil-A locations along the way - not that this will help me on the way home on Sunday. Hmm.

The GW Bridge is a road to hell

As someone who's driven from New Jersey to Boston multiple times, I fully endorse your decision to avoid the George Washington Bridge and the Cross-Bronx Expressway. The Palisades Parkway and the Tappan Zee Bridge are a much better choice. In addition, once you've crossed the Hudson, I recommend that you avoid I-95 and head for Connecticut Route 15 (the Merritt Parkway) instead. I can't guarantee that you'll have less traffic that way, but that's been the case in my experience.

ETA: I looked up "bonspiel." Congratulations to you and your team.
