even spielberg says so: "george said that if i did wind up directing the first one, that i would need to direct three of them. he said he had three stories in mind. it turned out george did not have three stories in mind -- we had to make up all the subsequent stories. so it was like two weeks after raiders opened, we knew we'd have to sit down in a room and figure out what raiders 2 was going to be."

relax, relax -- i don't think the argument is cropping up again. :-) it's only that i was watching the Extra Stuff on the indiana jones DVDs and without even being asked spielberg told how lucas makes shit up.

do i? there are surprisingly few details i remember from those days ... such as who was on what side of this or many other issues. i do remember that even when the arguments weren't nasty-unpleasant, convincing some people you (generic) might have a point was like nailing jello to the wall ...
