i'm looking forward to this movie, for reasons of concept as well as reasons of mr. hugh jackman. but i've got to tell you, if -- as it appears from the trailers -- the movie calls "frankenstein" what should correctly be called "frankenstein's monster"?

the whole film is going to be wrecked for me.

For what it's worth, I also hear that it's terrible.

heh. i hear that it's fantastic. we're hearing from people with different tastes and interests, evidently.

but anyway, it's not worth much, because of course i'm going to go anyway. and i'll either like it or i won't.

They watched it wrong.

Oh, and Fox, they make the 'Frankenstein' error once. Just grit your teeth for the moment, and you'll be fine.

I believe that it's just the stupid marketing people who call it Frankenstein (although from what I understand of the plot, V.F. actually has some sort of part in it) mostly as a tie in to the release of the Universal Monster Legacy Edition DVDs featuring... yup you guessed it, all the Frankenstein (F, Bride of F, Son of F, House of F), Dracula (D, Bride of, Son of, House of) and Wolf-Man movies...

After I went through this long-winded thing about how the fact that Creature has no name was significant, my students insisted on referring to him as Frank, Jr. *g*

I don't remember specifically, but I'm sure it would have grated on my brain and I *would* remember specifically if they'd called him Frankenstein.

Mostly, they just call him the monster, iirc.
