me: i can tell i'm coming down with something. i have the headache, and you know that taste in the back of your throat, how you can tell any day now you'll have a raging head cold?

my co-worker: i don't know why -- the air quality is so high, there's no reason you shouldn't be feeling well.


the bitterness in the woman's voice had to be heard to be believed. it's almost as bitter as the icky taste in the back of my throat.

I find that taking zinc lozenges at this stage can stop it dead in its tracks. Really. Take one after every meal for a day or two and see what happens.

i have zinc lozenges at home. unfortunately, i didn't recognize the feeling until i got off the bus this morning. so, no zinc for me until dinnertime. sigh.
