me: i can tell i'm coming down with something. i have the headache, and you know that taste in the back of your throat, how you can tell any day now you'll have a raging head cold?

my co-worker: i don't know why -- the air quality is so high, there's no reason you shouldn't be feeling well.


the bitterness in the woman's voice had to be heard to be believed. it's almost as bitter as the icky taste in the back of my throat.

no, she was right. she wasn't criticizing me -- she was commiserating. the air quality has been wretched lately, and it isn't a huge surprise that it's making me ill. :-) s'ok.
