have purchased pine-and-canvas "dresser" and assembled it.  four drawers -- HUGE difference.  huge.  it is much easier, as dr. pangloss probably noted, to put everything in its place when there is, in fact, a place for everything.

it occurs to me that a "control freak" icon would probably not go amiss.

Actually, I imagine Dr. Pangloss would have reasoned that because there is a place for everything, it is for the best that everything exist.

I completely sympathize! Everyone makes fun of me for having a bookcase and two plastic dressers in my new room (it comes with a wardrobe, desk and captains bed). But, things need to be put away. Okay, yeah, they tease me about having so many books, too.
