ornithology

what is this chirpy little bird that starts tweeting at 4am every morning, and if i had a gun, could i shoot it?

there must be a joke in there somewhere with a punchline like ornerythology, but hell if i can work out how to set it up.

i'm putting plugs in my ears and trying to go back to bed.  goddammit.

I feel your pain. A few years a go there was a towee (at least that is the local name) that lived right outside the window. He chirped non freaking stop.

Good luck!

The downside of the UK...

handguns are outlawed.

But I think you can claim it was a fox, and shoot it impunity (or at least the backup of the Upper House)

;)

I don't know if they have mockingbirds in England, but they sing all night if they feel so inclined during their breeding season (and possibly year round). If it repeats the short phrases of its song several times in a row and strings together distinctly different sounding bits, it's probably at least related to a mockingbird.

I've wished for a gun many times when the birds in the bushes outside my window start at in at 2am during the summer.
