evening roundup

picked up two mother's day cards for my mommy today, because mother's day UK is this sunday (and in case we forgot, there's a note from the caretaker in the entryway to the building -- dude) and mother's day US is not until may.  (note to self:  also do not forget father's day, innit.  [/[livejournal.com profile] cannons_at_dawn])  cannot decide which one to send first, but think i will choose the one with a picture of a breakfast tray with hot coffee, juice, croissant, flower, etc. and inside note reading "this is what breakfast in bed might look like if i actually made it for you."  hee.

and!  prezzie from [livejournal.com profile] juice817 today!  [bounce]  yayyay!

dudes, how did i not know about the superdrug in market street?  it's right across from boots, which is fairly bold of them, but i'll tell you what, it was OMG less crowded.  a good deal smaller, but it had what i needed, so today it got my business.  w00t.  also bought binder and hole-puncher for printing-out of professor's textbook -- a massive drag, but cheaper and easier than trying to find the thing in a bookstore and then paying £40 for it.  and pencils, pencil sharpener, push pins that look like ladybugs.  got a decent amount of reading done this afternoon as well, but not enough, ugh.  self-assessment time right about now, and if i'm honest my SA will have to say something about the picture of me in the dictionary by the entry for "procrastinate".

also, bought duct tape (called "elephant tape", wtf?) for my card-holder-and-keyring, half of which finally separated enough for shit to start falling out.  i'd fixed it with duct tape before, but the previous duct tape repairs were shredding, and done emergency surgery this morning with a band-aid, the outline and one end of which are still visible.  heh.  but, like, this thing has been with me since my freshman year, y'all.  i can't abandon it now.  plus i don't think they make them anymore.

[eta:  GO SCOTUS GO!  the nine wise men seven wise men and two wise women four wise men and one wise woman overruled the three less-wise men and one less-wise woman, deciding 5-4 that execution of juveniles -- that is, execution of convicts of any age whose crimes were committed when they were juveniles -- is unconstitutional.  HUZZAH.  it's not enough, but baby steps, man.]
