you know what's a thing?

i notice this in manchester and also in noel -- the actors? their voices are different in the commentary than in the show.  not all of them, but at least it's true of allison janney and bradley whitford -- their real voices are so much (frankly) pleasanter than CJ's and josh's.  smoother and less harsh, you know?

mmm, vocalists.

well, ppbtbthh. i like bradley whitford, and if i shouldn't, i don't want to hear about it. :-)

i expect it is the sorkin dialogue. if nothing else, you have to breathe differently to get through a whole line than you breathe to get through a line of anything else -- which really does make it like singing, actually. so maybe what it is, is that the characters' voices are much more controlled than the actors'. i have it in my head that the same is true of richard schiff, but of course, his toby has the whole range of voices. [adores toby liek omg]
