new year's yay!
it's amazing how much Norman has grown in just two days. her mother is managing to get her to eat more at each sitting now, so she can hang in there for longer between feedings -- and, now, when she cries, others of us can often settle her down without having to make her mother feed her. somehow? i have a particular skill for getting her to quit crying and go to sleep! i feel extra-special that way. :-) (last night, she was asleep at long last and then her great-grandmother spoke too loudly and woke her up. it took all three of us half an hour to get her to sleep again, and out comes the great-grandmother again and almost woke her up again. ARGH. but, better.) and, so cute! i can almost not quite stand it.

yuletide news, as you've probably seen by now, i wrote Also Ran, a bit of Chariots of Fire (Abrahams/Lindsay) for ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
peak_in_darien. it hasn't done as well as last year's "Fortune's Fool", but like i said before, it wasn't likely to. :-) it's at my site now as well. i'm also in a position to say that my present, Guestright, was written by evilprodigy -- thanks, P!
am now watching DVDs of Firefly and having fun looking for people who might appear to be at least part Chinese (since, you know, all the language is English and Mandarin, it seems like it would make some sense is all).
