Okay, let's talk about Morse code.  The opening credits of the show go like this:

. _ _ _ _  .  . _ .  . .  _ . _ .  . . . .  _ _ _  _  . . . .  . _ .  . .

Which, by my decoder ring, makes:

J E R I C H O  T H R I

I listened to it many, many times, but if it were "Jericho KS" then after the three dashes up there for "O" it would be _ . _ .  . . . -- and it's not.  Anyone have thoughts on "thri"?

eta:  more musing.

_ . . . . . _ . . .

could be THRI, as above, if it's _  . . . .  . _ .  . .
could be BUS, if it's _ . . .  . . _  . . .
could be DIETS, if it's _ . .  . .  .  _  . . . (I almost thought it was "dies", but the only dash in those four letters would be in the D)
could be DEEFI, if it's _ .  .  .  . . _ .  . .
could be NSAS if it's _ .  . . .  . _  . . . (which obviously has a lot to do with "Kansas", but where's the KA?)

I have no idea, but for the record, _.... = 6.

True. So it could be 6RI, if it's _ . . . .  . _ .  . .
or 6AS, if it's _ . . . .  . _  . . .
etc. :-)

THREE _ .... ._. . .

[facepalm]

Wow. I'm an idiot for not realizing, when I went with "diets" because "deeets" was nonsense, that I = 2E and therefore THRI = THREE. [facepalm some more]

So okay. But what's "JERICHO THREE"?

Third episode, maybe?

I've done some googling, and it looks like the code changes from ep to ep.

Ah yes. It seems that the code on the pilot is, now that you mention it, "JERICHO PILOT". I couldn't work out what it was for the second episode -- not "JERICHO TWO", on account of the word after "jericho" seems to begin with an F, but, yay project. :-) Thanks!

And, aha! The second episode was called "Fallout". I don't think the second word was that long, but at least the "F" thing didn't come completely out of the back of my neck. :-)
