First, Doctor Who "Midnight": Man, that sucked. The unison voice work was incredibly impressive. Everything else was crap.
On the Bellatrix socks, I had got down to the heel flap and switched to a #1 needle because I wanted the fabric firmer; did the flap, turned the heel, picked up stitches for the gussets, and got halfway through the decreases (with the instep still on #2) before I decided the foot was going to be too small that way. Ripped it right back to the beginning of the heel flap and began again with the #2 needle; am considering it a triumph because in ripping it back I didn't irrecoverably drop any stitches. Redid heel flap, etc., and am now about five repeats of the eight-row pattern from the toe. Hurrah.
